It's bank holiday weekend and autistic DD has not pooed for 4 days.

She's increasingly uncomfortable and having overflow soiling that is a sign that she is becoming impacted (been there, got the t-shirt).

Silly me - I made the mistake of thinking I could take her out/ have people over 3 days in a row, despite knowing from previous experience that she will only shit at home and if she gets the urge when she's out, she will hold it in.

She had 6mls of Senna yesterday, in addition to her lactose, as per usual , but we had friends round and I guess she decided that she could not shit with people in the house.

She cannot use Movicol as her fluid intake is so low (500mls per day) and this has been going on so long, so fucking long.

Anyone else in this position and want to come scream with me: aaaarggghhhhh!

How old is she? Can you discreetly suggest everyone else goes out for a nice walk? I feel for you though!

This withholding of poo makes her so ill. She has become incontinent with urine because her bowel is so stretched out that it presses on her bladder so she has lost the sensation of needing to wee.

She is 5 years old and needs to wear a pull up when out in case as she wets herself.

The NHS continence service where we live is so underfunded it's ridiculous. Nobody cares that my intelligent, beautiful DD is still wetting herself and refusing to shit at age 5.

And there is so much shame around it - it's not just a hidden disability, it's a secret disability.
