Has anyone upgraded from Virgin TIVO to Virgin 360?

If you've recently upgraded to Virgin 360, was it a new box or just a new remote and a software upgrade? Did you lose your recorded shows? We've been offered the upgrade but there's a recorded programme we really don't want to lose for sentimental reasons (it has our dog in it, who has since passed away). I'm reading different things online and on the message on our current box and Virgin haven't replied to my query yet.

Yes we kept the same box, just a new remote. We did need to install new software though so did lose all previous recordings, which I was gutted about as I had 7 series of my favourite TV show on there which is not available on other streaming services atm.

Oh poo - that's such a shame! We've got loads recorded that we haven't watched yet, not just our Eddie on TV, so we probably won't bother with this for now.

We upgraded and honestly I really prefer the TiVo.
Stick with it and your precious recording of your Eddie ❤️

I also preferred the Tivo. This seems like a downgrade TBH.

Have you looked to see if your recording can be downloaded? It looks like some can.

Yes, lost all recordings when changed tivo boxes and going to 360. I hate the voice activated remote. Also, the programs were recorded on the tivo box and this just accesses the cloud, so if the internet is down, no tv recordings.

That said, nothing lasts forever and you will need to move at some point in the future. Can you get the recording copied to somethings else?

Thanks everyone. We're looking into whether we can use a screen capture card to get a copy of the recordings but there are copyright protections - I've tasked my teenager to work out what exactly we need because he's a lot more techy than me. We've filmed the screen with DH's iPad so we do have an emergency backup, but the quality isn't great, so we'll hang onto the TiVo box for as long as possible!
