What would you do...

You are sitting at the edge of a big sand & water pit watching your child play. There are lots of other children there too, all playing at filling buckets, making sandcastles etc.
One child is running around throwing sand & jumping in puddles splashing other kids. The childs mother is there but she is looking at her phone.
Would you:

  1. Go over to childs mother & say something
  2. Tell child yourself to stop
  3. Take your own child & go elsewhere

Tell the mother to keep the kid under control

Toptotoe · 26/05/2024 08:57

Go elsewhere.

Probably 1.

Go elsewhere...if you tell the mum she will say his just having fun, if you tell the child she will get mad ..so just get your own child and walk away!

Depends how long it lasts...

5 minutes + ? If yes, Then go over to mother and say, gosh the kids are energetic today. That's my little one. Which ones yours?

I regularly supervise Gdcs playing in a big sandpit at their local park - and will invariably tell any other kids (as well as my own) NOT to throw sand because it’s really horrible if it gets in anyone’s eyes.
Not that it’s ever happened, but any parent objecting to my telling her child would get very short shrift. They should be telling them themselves.
