After finding this super catchy song about the 7 Continents, I would really like other suggestions for simple, educational, and catchy songs.

For what age children and for which subjects?
For EYFS anything by Jack Hartman is good. Shake your sillies out.
Pete the cat
Tricky words

Me and DS were listening to Dem Bones yesterday, remember that one!

Lower primary aged, but let's be honest the grown ups all like to sing them as well. 🤣 Any subject is fine. So long as they're catchy. 😊

I'll have a look at Jack Hartman, I know shake your sillies out but didn't realise he had others.

Unfortunately all the best ones are American, so if you are in the UK then your children might start having an unusual accent!
Pete the cat is a set of books about dealing with things that go wrong - he gets his shoes muddy/wet/covered in paint or loses his shirt buttons but instead of getting upset he just carries on and sings his songs. Our children love them.

I recently heard McGrammar on women's hour and now my kids love him. Really catchy and good.

Oww i've never heard of him, so that's another one to have a listen to. My neighbours are going to be very confused by my bank holiday weekend music choices. 🤣

The Story Bots have some cracking songs, about all sorts of subjects.

The solar system, dinosaurs, jobs, etc.

Thank you, that's another one I had never heard of. There are so many catchy tunes, it's not surprising we end up singing along. 😄

The Horrible Histories ones are good

There’s a whole generation of DC who can rattle off monarchs from William the Conqueror to Liz 2 (plus the odd headline fact about some) because of their version

I clicked on this thread thinking of exactly this song. It now goes up to good old Charlie. I don't know who was more excited about the coronation last year Charles after all those years waiting finally becoming king or me for getting an updated version of the catchiest tune ever written. Grin

There's a shapes one similar to the continents one. I'll see if I can find it. That's catchy.

Isn't that the band who wrote the Mickey mouse clubhouse theme tune? If so I can imagine the songs are indeed very very catchy!

Femeia · 26/05/2024 22:17

@ZipZapZoom yes! And they did Birdhouse in your Soul. Super catchy
