I drink too much

I'm not happy with my relationship with alcohol. Usually DH and I don't drink during the week so just Fri/Sat/Sun but I really, really look forward to it and I often end up having too much.

Is there anyway I can learn to moderate without having to go tee total? No one else would say I have a problem but Im not comfortable with the situation as it is.

I'd recommend reading what's known as "quit lit" and then you'll work out that at least a period eg 30 days sobriety will help you work out what to do next. You dont have to be dependent on alcohol to decide to stop/cut down!!

@qwertyqwertyqwertyqwerty it's perfectly appropriate to comment that objectively speaking the amount of alcohol she is drinking is not a huge amount whilst also commenting that subjectively she may feel it's too much (which is what I said and other posters too). Those two things can be true at the same time.

@DrunkTinkerbell40s @Shiningout @supercalafragilisticexpealidocious

A person has posted they have concerns about their own drinking. It really isn't appropriate to say the amount is not much.

The issue is the OP has concerns about their relationship with alcohol.

People who do this need to reflect on whether it is helpful to minimise by focusing on amount not relationship.

Yes sorry, in reflection I shouldn't have said that. My first comment I advised the op about my situation as I have now gone sober but then I realised I was much worse than she was but like you said it's not really revelant the amount, it's the relationship with alcohol. Sorry for my comments but I don't think I can remove
