I hadn't noticed this before, probably as it never really occurred to me, just doing my thing. But recently having a chat with DP about how we both like such different foods, I realised that I tend to choose cold meals around 80% of the time.
No idea if this is unusual, but having a gander online it seems to be a more popular choice for 'lunch' than dinner/tea. Was similar when young as always preferred a cold sandwich with tuna, chicken, cheese salad and so on to a cooked meal. I prefer toast cold as well as potatoes, rice, pasta and fish. Apart from potentially being a bit more open to food poisoning, lol, I dare say it isn't a big deal, but it's interesting.
So I tried to recall childhood preferences and it tallies to a good extent, much to my parent's confusion. I have no idea if this makes much of a difference health-wise, as I still get my share of nutrients and calories, just not from typically hot meals. The only foods that I prefer hot are eggs, and certain veg (broccoli, cauliflower, etc). This also means that I tend to choose tinned fish over fresh, such as mackerel. I do love pan fried sea bass on occasion, but still with cold potatoes and salad. The idea of hot soups and casseroles does nothing for me at all.
Anyone else like this? Is it at all unusual?
