Breathing in BBQ smoke while pregnant?

I never thought twice but relative told me I needed to stay away from the BBQ. I’ve now come home, googled and I’m worrying - lots of sites say to stay well away and cite the risk of carbon monoxide. We were outside and I was probably 5/6ft away from it, while it was smoking, for maybe 20 minutes or so.

Should I be worried? I’m 16 weeks

No, you should not be worried.

You’re fine. Massive overreaction from your relative, albeit coming from a place of love and concern.

if you worked as a bbq chef all day every day then I can see it potentially being an issue. As a one off or very occasionally over the summer it isn’t going to do you or the baby any harm at all.

Of course not.

I think you'll be absolutely fine. You're going to breathe In lots of different things just walking around unless you're planning to hold your breath for the next few months?
