When I separated from now ex H we had joint finances.
There was back and forth about an interim split and eventually the accounts were closed, and they were no longer visible on my banking App.
The one exception to this was the Credit Cards which was paid from a linked account.
I didn’t think anything of it, other than feeding my contempt by reading on what he was spending the children’s child support. I did think he was an idiot, because why would you put those purchases on an account that you know can be seen by your ex.
Anyway, it turns out the bank has cocked up, and this is his personal credit card, The bank transferred the payments to come from his personal account, but should have set up a new cc account.
I think it’s actually a shocking data breach, bank have said it technically isn’t. ExH doesn’t yet know (from me anyway)
What do you think should happen? Do you think ex H would be entitled to compensation if he finds out?
