Cosy hobbies !

I’ve seen something on tik tok , it’s like a trend - cosy hobbies ! It’s just people having nice , little indoor hobbies ! Which is essentially just hobbies 🤣

Anyway , it got me thinking about how I’ve changed with age ( I’m not old by any means - I don’t think anyway 🤣 ) I’m 38. We have recently adopted an alcohol free life , just decided that I didn’t want to spend my child free nights in a pub and I didn’t want to spend my Saturdays hungover ! I honestly now don’t know how I ever enjoyed that! Absolutely nothing wrong with it , but it’s been eye opening for me and I’ve started to relax in different ways and really look forward the weekends now ! Whereas before it was drinking on the Friday and then - if not doing anything particular with the children - tv series or films on the night .

I would say reading is definitely a hobby - I am obsessed . Nothing better than curling up with my kindle and reading a good thriller !

I’ve got into colouring too - just treated myself to some new pens and I’m so excited to sit with the children tonight and do that 🤣

I quite enjoy baking too , the children enjoy doing this with me .

I went through a phase of journaling and that really helped me to relax and helped my anxiety !

DH has really got into gardening - as someone whose life revolved around alcohol in all honesty it’s so refreshing ! If it’s not gardening , it’s DIY and he’s up at the crack of dawn now!

So ……What hobbies do you enjoy ? Maybe you’ll give me tips !

Reading and baking are mine

I love knitting and reading. I also do bullet journaling, not in an artistic way, just to keep organised really. I have recently come across "altered books" on youtube so have been having a go at that. I also like word puzzles and do Wordle, Quordle and Blossom every day

I occasionally do a jigsaw puzzle but that tends to be more of a winter hobby

My family enjoy board games . . . I'm not very good at the tactics but enjoy playing!

Building and decorating a dolls house would be cute! I'm crap at that sort of thing, but you might have a flair for it?

I enjoy various at-computer things, the main thing to do currently is photo colorization. I'm not exactly a Photoshop pro, so I use Photoglory, but we have tons of old family pictures both from my and my SO's sides and colorizing them has been a pretty calming experience so far.
