Would I be mad to buy Taylor Swift Tickets from Viagogo?

Have 2 daughters who are desperate to see Taylor but unfortunately we weren’t able to get tickets in the official sale, have also kept looking on Ticketmaster for resale but nothing has ever come up. Prices are now coming down ( a bit) as the dates approach on resale sites such as Viagogo but I’ve never used them and thought there was restrictions on reselling the UK tickets on these sites. Does anyone know if they’re likely to be valid? - I’d hate to turn up on the day and not get in then having 2 crushed girls. Thanks

Biggest problem is it promotes secondary selling at inflated prices which is a major problem, how often do we see tickets for major events on these platforms within hours of going on sale, it’s reasonable enough if you are genuinely unable to attend after purchase but that clearly isn’t the case when they are sold so quickly

LimoneLilly · 07/06/2024 11:31

Is there any way to get hold of one of these codes now or do you have to have one from the original sale last year? It appears that resale tickets can only be bought on ticket master by invitation only. My DD wasn’t a fan last year but is now obsessed and I would love to take her!

SummaLuvin · 07/06/2024 11:34

@LimoneLilly if you registered but were waitlisted last year there is a chance you will be removed from the waitlist and get a code. If you didn't register last year then there is no chance of getting a code. I could be corrected, but I think the codes are tied to a specific TM/AXS account which prevents code sharing also.

my ticket specifically says that it cannot be transferred or resold. only returned to original seller (ticketmaster).

LimoneLilly · 07/06/2024 11:38

Thanks so much for that, @SummaLuvin - I have been struggling to find this information anywhere! I can at least stop frantically searching for tickets. Fortunately, my DD has no expectations and it does seem the demand is there for Taylor to tour again soon!

SummaLuvin · 07/06/2024 11:43

@LimoneLilly I've been a fan for years, and Taylor seems to love touring. Her output is insane right now too, so while I expect her to take a well deserved break after the Eras Tours, I think we will see her back here and touring again in 2-3 years, and maybe the hype will have died down to normal levels so getting tickets is less crazy. I believe you don't require a code for TM and AXS resale tickets just to get into the firsthand sale, so there is a chance that you will be able to get some - it's very competitive though.

Pedallleur · 07/06/2024 12:28

She is in that elite category of artists (U2/Stones/Springsteen for whom stadiums are there venues. This tour has been going on a while. She will still be this big in the next 3 years. Just keep trying but sadly some of us wont be able to go

Doltontweedle · 07/06/2024 12:32

I’ve bought loads of tickets off viagogo. Including Taylor swift ones for anfield. I’m worried now even though I’ve had zero issues at all with them over the years.

Dementedmaw · 07/06/2024 16:57

I have tried every legitimate avenue for nearly a whole year, there’s literally no way to get them now apart from stubhub or viagogo, I’d love to know if anyone actually gets in with the tickets tonight

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 07/06/2024 16:59

@LimoneLilly

I think the code maybe because they have released some 'new' seats. Maybe when they are sold resale will come back without a code.

CandiedPrincess · 07/06/2024 17:05

I wouldn't risk it. I'd only get them resale via AXS or Ticketmaster. I have the option to sell in my AXS account and it says if bought through AXS then AXS Official Resale is the only legitimate place to resell tickets.

Resale has been turned off again for Edinburgh, can’t get in to even look without a code

Dementedmaw · 07/06/2024 18:32

I registered last year and didn’t get a code at all 😭

Toooldforthis36 · 07/06/2024 18:33

Hi likelihood of scamming - avoid

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 07/06/2024 18:33

I was willing to pay a lot as I want to go on Sunday but I'm just not risking it on Viagogo. I've sold through them before but there's just too many scams. I'll have to live vicariously through the one filmed for Disney and all the Tik Toks!

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 07/06/2024 18:34

Can't buy at all now on AXS and code only on Ticketmaster.

LimoneLilly · 07/06/2024 18:43

AXS keeps blocking me thinking I’m a bot and tm say it’s invite only! 😭even if she adds more dates, it looks like it will be impossible to buy tickets. Let’s hope Taylor only wants a short break from touring and will be back in Europe soon

Doltontweedle · 09/06/2024 22:21

Has anyone had any luck with viagogo tickets? I didn’t know they could rip people off and I feel sick at the thought of being scammed. My dd is meant to see Taylor swift with her friend on Friday, I haven’t even received the tickets yet and just been told I’ll get them Wednesday now 😩

JollyJolene · 09/06/2024 22:30

I got some for Olivia Rodrigo on Viagogo. We had Manchester tickets, which obviously didn’t happen in the end, and my son was so desperate to go. I obviously paid over the odds for O2 but everything was okay. It sounds as though this is not always the case though.

TokyoSushi · 09/06/2024 22:40

Quite a few keep popping up on Twickets, I used them a few weeks ago to legitimately sell a ticket and it worked perfectly (the buyer was sitting next to me!) I'm wary of getting a TS ticket off there though as I know the likelihood of scammers is through the roof - what do people think?

fruitpastille · 09/06/2024 22:48

I bought tickets in the past from stubhub. Because of covid the tickets got reissued 2 years later but I never got the reissued version. No response whatsoever from stub hub and I only got my money back because I used my credit card section 75 and had proof about the tickets being invalid. Beware.

MrsJamieFraser22 · 10/06/2024 07:41

Hi we were there last night(it was amazing!) don’t know the full story as they were a bit in front of us but we definitely saw people getting turned away at the turnstiles last night. How it worked for us was we had registered with Ticketmaster for Edinburgh last year and never got a code then on Thursday night got an email with one. At first you could only buy tickets for Friday in Edinburgh but then on Friday morning they released seats on Saturday & Sunday (the code worked for all 3 nights). So keep an eye on your emails if you’re registered for any of the other UK dates. I think there were quite a few tickets released as we knew other people there who had got codes on the Friday. The restricted view tickets obviously weren’t the best view but there were massive screens and as she’s out on the stage so much we could see her in person about 75% of the time. The girls had the time of their lives. if you get the option I’d say go for it.

CandiedPrincess · 10/06/2024 10:36

I would not buy a ticket from anywhere other than AXS or Ticketmaster. Loads of people got scammed buying tickets for Olivia Rodrigo and there were some very disappointed people who had paid out for travel and hotels on top.

CuttingMeOpenthenHealingMeFine · 10/06/2024 11:17

We bought Viagogo tickets and got in fine last night thank goodness. It was a risk but one I was willing to take!

Dementedmaw · 12/06/2024 00:44

I ended up buying from vivid seats on Sunday and got in fine that night
