Mid sussex//East Sussex borders where’s a nice place to live?

Looking to move to West Sussex in the mid sussex/East Sussex borders. Ideally 45 drive to Haywards Heath. any recommendations please

1. countysidexwalks
2. on a bus route (we will have car too)
3. some shops , cafes and a good pub would be nice we can walk to
