Is the NHS now geared for the unemployed, retired or those who have fully flexible schedules?

Was sent a text to book a review blood test last night and had the option of today only and picked 3.30 as Finished work at 3pm today. Get a confirmation text.

10.30 I get another confirmation with. Time change to 3pm. No explanation of time change just another confirmation.

Try to call during lunch 30m but on hold and have to abandon call. Call my mum to call the surgery but she out at lunch. Colleagues offer to cover my class for 15 minutes so I can get to surgery.

Cannot not go as lose the appointment if I don't cancel.

Why do surgeries do this? It happens multiple times. On Tuesday I had to wait 45 minutes to see the doctor and when I said I had a question was told it would have to wait as they were running late.

Another occasion they called met at 2.45 when I said I was teaching and not available until 3pm. They left a message-stating they only call one can I had to call the surgery to rearrange. But I can take an hour to get through.

It's unbelievably frustrating!!
