Has anyone heard about this story? First I am hearing of it, it’s horrifying. Reminds me of the old film “Not Without My Daughter” with Sally Field.
Link here to a TikTok video of the Mum, Mandy Kelly, speaking about it, and to a news article. The boys are now 3 and 5 and she hasn’t seen them for 2 years.

How awful. I hope they're returned to her.

I have to say these stories really bother me.

I’m mum to adult sons one of who travels for work. It worries me he’d get into a relationship abroad and end up in a different country from his kids.

british women marrying men from patriarchal countries is that risk on speed.

How awful for this poor mum, not to mention the children... I hope this case gets the attention it deserves.

There's a couple of stories like this in Ireland. Another ladies 3 children I think have been abducted by her husband and taken out of Ireland and she's never seen them again and this must be over 10 years ago.

Trundledagain · 24/05/2024 20:09

Truly awful. I heard her interviewed yesterday.

I've read a few accounts of this happening. It really is not worth having a child/ren with someone from another country. Some countries are easier to deal with than others due to the Hague Convention, but I still wouldn't risk it.
