What type of dog is this?

newdater32 · 24/05/2024 00:14

Sorry my animal knowledge is crap but is this an XL bully? Because it looks like one.

Talking to a guy on tinder and he has these pics up , I've obviously cropped him out.

But not a fan of these dogs given the attacks.

Probably

Whentheboatcomein · 24/05/2024 00:29

Looks like one to me yeah

ToBeOrNotToBee · 24/05/2024 00:29

Looks like one, although what separates XLs from the Classics is purely size, so unless you have a tape measure you would not know for sure.

Thelnebriati · 24/05/2024 00:34

First red flag for me is the fact that dogs ears are cropped. Its illegal to crop a dogs ears in the UK, so its either been done illegally here, or he sent the dog abroad to have it done, or or the dog is imported.
Second potential red flag is the dog in the car. Is it in a car harness attached to the seat belt? You should never have a dog loose in the car in case you have an accident, they might panic and bite you, or run off.

Idontknowwhattodo78 · 24/05/2024 00:35

It’s a dog that has had his/her ears cropped, more than likely illegally, and very painfully, for aesthetic reasons, by an arsehole.

powershowerforanhour · 24/05/2024 00:35

Looks like it. It also has cropped ears which is illegal in the UK, unless it's an import that was done in its country of origin.

viques · 24/05/2024 00:36

Agree, the cropped ears are a huge clue that this is a dog owner for whom their own image and not the dogs well being is the priority.

ScrubMum · 24/05/2024 00:37

It looks like one but without seeing the actual size you couldn’t be sure. No way would I have dated anyone with a dog that had cropped ears.

It probably wears a huge chain round its neck too. Bin him imo.

ThePure · 24/05/2024 00:38

Another red flag it's wearing a prong collar
Avoid this man

AmelieTaylor · 24/05/2024 00:39

People jumping to massive conclusions. He may have rescued it with its ears already cropped.

@newdater32 it's a gorgeous dog. I'd need to see it standing to get a better idea if it's an XL or not.

what has he said about the dog?

crumblingschools · 24/05/2024 00:40

I was going to say the collar doesn’t look very nice

SabrinaThwaite · 24/05/2024 00:40

Cropped ears - cruel, painful and unnecessary.

I’d not want anything to do with someone who thought this was even remotely OK.

Ah, I never clicked into the photo until you posted. I see it now.

OP AVOID.

He has a prong collar on it for goodness sake. No-one in their right mind would date this man whether it’s a rescue or not.

Labbydood · 24/05/2024 00:43

The dogs probably fine. The chap who decided he needed this kind of dog and cropped its ears to offset his tiny balls is the problem

powershowerforanhour · 24/05/2024 00:43

I can't be sure, but I think the metal chain link collar may be one of those ones that has prongs that stick into the dog's neck when it tightens. Which says about the owner that either he has no confidence in his ability to train and control his dog effectively; or that he is the kind of person who thinks that having a muscle dog with cropped ears and a metal collar makes him look cool.

HamBagelNoCheese · 24/05/2024 00:51

Cropped ears and a pinch prong collar. The guy is a walking red flag.

Notthatcatagain · 24/05/2024 01:00

Sweet Lord! I've just had a close look at that collar, you can see the sharp bits pointing in towards its neck. Who would buy that?

newdater32 · 24/05/2024 01:01

I've asked him directly. It's an XL American Bully and he bought 12 from the US but only keeps one at home, rest he's given to others in different countries. Not sure what that's about.

So huge ugly brute of a dog that could bite your entire face off without even trying, with cropped ears and a pronged collar?

Yeah no this is a huge compensation and/or status dog. You, or any woman really, can do better than this. This is the kind of man who will think throwing his playstation controller through the TV because he lost at FIFA is totally reasonable behaviour.

Fraaahnces · 24/05/2024 02:11

He’s basically a puppy dealer. Gross.

unsync · 24/05/2024 05:35

It would be an automatic no on the ear cropping alone. Horrible, illegal thing to do to a dog, it speaks to the type of person he is. Who thinks mutilation of an animal is acceptable?

ManilowBarry · 24/05/2024 05:58

Illegal cropped ears. Horrible chain collar.

Probably smokes and or sells weed and uses to walk along with his knuckles dragging the floor until he got the dog which now pulls him along.

I bet he has spoilers on a Toyota Yaris as he can't afford an actual sports car.

If this is real, then why would you be interested in a Chav who supports cruelty to dogs and is a 100% loser?

JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods · 24/05/2024 05:59

I'd run for the hills op.

sanogo · 24/05/2024 06:54

I would not want to know somebody that owns that dog

I'm getting my dog is my weapon, look at me I'm hard, vibes
