A couple of weeks ago I went to a job interview and last week was told that I had the job, but they wanted me to work in a different department and were getting approval for it. I said ok and was told they would be in touch again at the beginning of this week to tell me when the training day is and things. I actually had trouble receiving the offer call, apparently they had rung me a few times but hadn't got through. Only one phone call ever came through to my phone and when I answered it, the call kept ending so there's clearly an issue. My phone is working ok and I can make and receive calls to everyone else, so I suspect it's them.
As I know there's a problem with the phone, I was worried that perhaps they had phoned me this week but it hadn't come through, so I phoned them. I don't have a number for the manager or recruitment department, so I was put through to customer service who said the manager that I need to speak to wasn't in until later tonight but that she would ring me. They shut at 9pm and it's getting less and less likely now that I will hear back tonight. Oh and just to add, the only email I have is a no reply generic one, so I can't write an email to them either!
I don't really know what to do now. I don't have an extension for the manager or even a recruitment department, just customer service, so if I phone again then I'll be put through to them and they will say they'll ask the manager to ring me, but if I can't receive the call for whatever reason... then I'll be wondering why the manager didn't phone, so I'll phone customer service again and just get stuck in this cycle.
I'm tempted to go in person, but I don't know when the manager I need to speak to will be there, and it will be a bit embarrassing if I ask why hasn't she phoned me and she says just because there's no news😕If there's no news then it doesn't bother me but I'm just paranoid that they've either withdrawn the offer and cba to tell me, or that they can't get through and think I'm not interested!
