Girls are in school identifying as

Today, while discussing my daughter's welfare, the safe guarding officer we have been leasing with at my daughter's school told me that they have had girls coming into school identifying as Cheetahs and wanted kitty litter in the bathrooms.

SHE WASN'T JOKING.

There is seriously bad stuff happening to kids and we need to talk about it.

Cheetahs.

She followed by saying "you have absolutely no idea just how bad it is in school these days, there is much worse than that happening."

Well I wouldn't play cards with them

As they're cheetahs!

I'm not doubting the girls asked for this but they are deliberately winding up their teachers for a laugh. My friend's dd and her mates tried this one (foxes in their case) to annoy their head of year who they had a run in with over skirt lengths and make up! they at no point thought they were foxes, they just wanted a laugh to see what the school would do - the school had the last laugh though as the parents backed the school and kids were put on litter duty clearing up after the foxes!

It's sad you think allowing children to dress up is overindulgence.

It's overindulgence to let them wear dressing clothes to go to school unless it's world book day or some other designated costume day.

OP you will get told you’re making it up but this happened in our school. Except the girls identifying as cheetah’s haven’t asked for litter trays but live gazelles.

The school have managed to cordon off the field to house the gazelles but getting them in from the savannah is proving a little tricky at current. The school are panicking though as they’re concerned the cheetah-girls will starve if they don’t sort it soon. They won’t even eat the regulation pizza.

🤣🤣🤣

I wonder if it's occurred to any of the people having absolute histrionics over this that the kids posting shit like this on tiktok are doing it on purpose because it's so hilarious to see people like @SoreAndTired1 have complete meltdowns about it and post ludicrous end of days "none so blind" shit on Facebook. Probably over a Minions meme.

When I was in school we managed to convince the more gullible and hysterical parents that we were all part of a secret satanic werewolf cult. You know, for shits and giggles. Kids do stuff like that.

Um.....

that is exactly the reaction people had to reports that kids thought they were the opposite sex.

Those people like yourself, who originally thought it was made up to get a reaction, aren't laughing now about it, are you. The jokes on you, you just don't see it.

I've never thought being transgender was fake or a joke, but there's quite a big difference between gender dysphoria, a recognised mental illness, and thinking you're fucking cat 😂

The issue with children thinking they are the opposite sex is children being medicated and operated on

Unless parents are suddenly taking their children to the vets to be neutered because that's what they do with cats it's not really the same thing

Pieceofpurplesky · 24/05/2024 13:05

@MotherFeministWoman @AgathaAllAlong I said new TREND not that therians were new. It's suddenly all over social media and kids are leaping everywhere. There is a buzz of chatter about it in schools (teacher here) which happens when something becomes a trend.

I know this doesn't link to litter boxes but it's along the same lines - could make interesting PE lessons. The whole thing is bonkers (furries, litter, dog beds and therians)

PonyPatter44 · 24/05/2024 13:08

Tell them to stop being so silly and send them away.

1dayatatime · 24/05/2024 13:27

I can't see the logic of identifying as a cheetah- surely they would be at a massive competitive disadvantage when competing against other cis cheetahs on sports day (not to mention the risk of getting seriously chewed).

Surely it would be better to identify as something like a tortoise then you could really ace the other cis tortoises on sports day without the risk of getting chewed as well?

The poster quoted didn't say anything about the best friend's cousin wearing the tail to school though. Of course it's inappropriate to wear a costume at school if your country has a school uniform (probably why the states have more visible dress up). It's also inappropriate to wear heavy goth make up at school.

This only works if they all identify as tortoises. If some of them identify as cheetahs then identifying as a tortoise is a risk of becoming dinner.

Maybe identify as a male lion? Then you don’t have to do fuck all but no one else can eat you. Just got to watch out for American big game hunters that are touring schools in 2025, otherwise you’ll end up as a rug.

There is a trait in some Autistics that do like to dress
And act like as animals Wear tails
Etc
There is a name
For it but I've Forgotten it.

However it's Pretty rare so I'd say if this is true most of these
Kids are trying it on. Maybe
One is genuine

However I have heard
Of this.
It happened
In my
Sons school but
Only
One child.
Does think they asked
For a litter tray
Though

Is this a poem?

Given that some US schools do have cat litter in their classrooms for school shooter lockdown scenarios, your big game hunter comment is uncomfortably close to the truth (in the US at least).

Aliciainwunderland · 24/05/2024 15:55

I work in a school. There is a child who identifies as a cat. This is a fact. The school however are not providing a litter box and it is not discussed with other children so as not to make a ‘thing’ they will emulate.

you would be wrong to think these stories are all some kind of urban myth. These children do exist - however, the rooms with litter boxes is probably a bit of exaggeration

1dayatatime · 24/05/2024 15:59

@SJ1991x

"Maybe identify as a male lion? Then you don’t have to do fuck all but no one else can eat you"

But what happens when you come up against cis male lions- firstly they wouldn't be that interested in your preferred lion pronouns and secondly they'll eat you.

Yes she did She's an overindulged child allowed to go to school with a dressing up item

and regardless of whether there’s an actual uniform or not, ‘dressing up’ items really aren’t appropriate except on designated occasions.

It's not whataboutery when the topic is about 'identifying'. It's the same topic.

I'm gender critical. I believe there are 2 sexes. I also believe that some people decide to change sex.

This thread is fake news about teenagers saying they are cats.

The two are not remotely connected.

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 24/05/2024 18:43

Mum to a 'therian' here. She dresses up with a few friends, they pretend to be cats and use cat names and that's it really. They are 10 and 11. We just nod along and ignore it and the phase seems to be passing now and drifting towards becoming a full time Swifty. It's no different to the unicorn obsession and Harry Potter phase. If she tried to take it to a more serious level there is no way we would indulge it, any more than we would let her brother wear his soccer kit to school. We joke that if she were to try to make it a reality, we'd serve up some cat food and make her go poop in the ditch. Adults who indulge this rubbish are the issue, not silly kids taking the piss.

Also cheetahs don't use cat litter so it's a moot point.

😂You should consider writing a book about your experience.

Good idea! There is a lot to be learnt from my experience, so much so that I’m sure people will be telling this story to their grandchildren as a tale of caution of inviting tigers to tea.
