Disability aids

Arthritis in my hands is getting worse, & I'm looking for gadgets to help with everyday tasks.

2 examples :-
I can't un/fasten necklaces - the sort that have 2 interlocking rings.
I have difficulty opening jars & ring-pull cans.

I found a simple pronged kitchen tool on Amazon that holds an onion in place while I chop it. Not marketed as an aid, just a kitchen tool.

It's the little things that can make a big difference.

Does anyone know of a website that specialises in the sort of things I'm after, please?

Oh I only found that thread because I'd posted on it, so could search my own posts.

Lots of kitchen aids for disability are more available in general now.

We use the saucepan from ilea with a drain/colander in as ds can't lift and pour.

A jar opening set from Amazon

Veg cutter from Tesco that you put food in and pull the cord on.

It's also much cheaper if you don't need something that has the word disability attached to it.

Sorry I haven't read the full thread (rushing back out to work) but if there's an Ableworld near you, you could try there too. Make sure you fill in the form so you don't pay VAT on all the disability aids.

Here is a link to the rather well hidden disabilities board. (I didn't know it existed either until another kind mumsnetter posted a link.
