Laparotomy pain. Please advise

I had a laparotomy to remove ruptured cysts 2 weeks ago. 10 days post op, I was just about standing. Still in immense pain. My Dr thought it was odd and brushed it off saying i shouldn't be in so much pain.
2 weeks on, I'm walking better but by the evening I can be so sore standing is hard. I know it takes time but this is more painful that the c sections I've had. I recovered quicker from those.
It also looks an absolute mess, with a big bulge above the scar. I had a different surgeon and I live in a different country (small island) so getting a good 2nd opinion is virtually impossible.
If anyone can tell me of their experience etc I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

That sounds awful after I had a cyst removed from my abdomen I developed a big bump which turned out to be a hernia! The internal stitches holding the muscles together had broken and the bowel was escaping out! I found lying down and poking it back in helped the pain for a while but yes it was extremely painful.
