Do you have your hospital bed profiled/back raised or flat?
I find the mattresses usually get a right old dip in the middle.
They tend to be easier to lie on when they are flat.

I can’t switch off. Feel wired. Was watching Happy Valley and decided to be sensible
and not watch another episode. But I am now wide awake while everyone else sleeps

Dh died three years ago. Having difficulty forcing myself to get up and face the day sometimes and evening/night seems easier.

Have some warm oatmilk and planning to go to bed shortly.

I live abroad and it isn't night in my timezone.

Fell asleep in my daughters bed way too early this evening and then woke up hungry after a 3 hour nap, wide awake now. Most peaceful time of the day here and one of the only times I am truly on my own and no-one is asking anything from me

Fell asleep stupidly early now watching masterchef. Hospital is pretty shit though, hope you feel better soon.

Had a sleep after finishing work which was a mistake as I slept for hours then woke up at 9.30pm starving hungry.
Hope your back feels better soon and the hospital stay is short.

I'm up with my daughter. Looking like she has a gluten intolerance as well as cmpa and a soya allergy.

I'm on night 7 of no sleep, awful virus, swollen painful throat. Can't lie down or I start coughing. Can't sleep as I can't breathe. Literally just sitting here, for 7 nights. Docs won't treat it as its viral, so I sit here waiting for my toddler and preschooler to wake up....

Ugh same!! Without the coughing. Feel so awful I'll need to call in sick tomo. 😭

I've not been well recently so because my work routine is gone my sleeping pattern is all over the place and DC old enough to sort themselves out for school

Ds3 (6) has been off school with a raging temperature. Took him to bed at 8pm and lay with him in mine and dh's bed, intending to get back up (he always sleeps in with us if he's ill). That was the last I knew until 3.10am when I woke up 🙄

That's it, I've had a full 7 hours now and now I'm up. It's gonna be a long day.

Sorry you’re not well OP. My 3 year old wet his bed 1.5 hours ago, but is now coughing and keeping me awake. And I’m worrying about finances and future choices in career etc… always find it harder to switch off at this time of night and I’ve got important work in the morning. :/

I’m in a hotel and fell asleep with low lighting and TV quietly burbling. Which is better to wake up to than lying awake worrying in the dark about ongoing domestic upheaval.

Watched Masterchef final as it was broadcast earlier. Really excellent after the usual schmaltzy character portraits. Now seeing a parade of faces talking inaudibly about the coming election. And slightly enjoying the headlines accompanying photos of our drenched PM on all the front pages.

@Wordless doesn't look likely I'll get out today, they're waiting for results and also I need a scan. If they drag their heels on that could be a few days.

You would think MN would think by now , why don't we have a hospital ward forum ?
How great it would be for all those wide awake aches and pains to go somewhere to go to moan at all those new admissions . Just a thought since most new admissions , in my experience anyway seem unable to sleep .

@bluetopazlove a hospital forum might be good. I'm not new though, been here a few days
