I'm making chicken stew for dinner tonight (in the slow cooker).
I just decided to add some Campbells Condensed Mushroom Soup to it for a bit more flavour (something I always do).
The soup is in a ring-pull can. It was bought yesterday and looked fine, the lid was sealed and not bulging.
When I pulled back the ring- pull it popped. I didn't think anything of it, the soup inside looked and smelt fine, it didn't spurt out or anything.
I googled anyway out of interest and am now panicking. I've read that it means the food has gone off and that bacteria has created gases.
I've experienced 'blown' cans in the past, they are usually obviously swollen and the contents reek.
I've probably had ring-pull cans pop before, but this was a proper 'pop', like you get when you open a jar of jam.
