Do you enjoy craft & food fairs?

Do you enjoy craft & food fairs? I’m not talking about places with stands selling MLMs or anything but proper quality arts, crafts, food & drink. If so, are there any particular monthly, yearly, seasonally ones you find particularly good?

i don’t no

but i live i. a beautiful market town and they are very very popular and well attended

I used to love them. Lately all the ones I have attended have been overwhelmed with people peddling MLMs and resold junk. It’s just as bad as Etsy at this point.

As someone who attends craft markets regularly, they can be incredibly variable.

Are you looking for good markets to attend as a vendor or customer?

It might help if you said vaguely where you are in the country, then people can recommend good ones in your area.

It was more whether people still enjoyed attending them. I go to them frequently as we have some really good ones in Scotland. Their popularity sky rocketed during and after Covid. (During they all moved outdoors into gazebos).

Ah I see. In my experience, craft sales moved online during Covid, and then skyrocketed afterwards.

This is did mean that lots of new markets sprung up which were not well organised or curated and has had a generally negative impact on the quality and reach of craft markets as a whole.

The well organised ones I attend, people seem to enjoy the experience and engage with the vendors with genuine interest in their crafts. The other markets are mostly filled with bored browsers whose interests do not align with the vendors attending.

Glad you have some good ones in Scotland, that's very encouraging.

What do you think makes a market good?
