London Brunch/early lunch

I'm off to London at the end of June, to see Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club. There are 6 of us (inc a veggie) and we don't know London very well. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good place to eat before the show? I think ideally we'd be somewhere near the theatre so that we only have to do one lot of travel.

What's your budget? It's so central there, you'll be spoilt for choice

Good question. It's not a special occasion, so we're not pushing the boat out. But equally it's not bargain basement. I guess middle of the road. We probably won't have that long, which is another reason not to spend a fortune.

Ivy Brasserie in Covent is good for groups or Forza Wine above the national theatre which is lovely and both in walking distance of the playhouse theatre.

I heard Milk at Balham is good and it's easy to get to

Balham is miles from Embankment.

Salieri on the Strand is always good and a good laugh.

Which station are you coming into?

I like the Daisy Green restaurants for brunch but they have a weird desert of them around the Strand. Timmy Green at Victoria and Scarlett Green on Noel St are probably closest but a bit of a walk.

Skylon restaurant is quite convenient.

Brasserie Blanc near Southbank (Waterloo) then walk across the bridge to the theatre.
Barrafina - Spanish tapas in Cov Gdn (5ish min walk away)

The Garden restaurant looks lovely as it has outside space and is practically opposite the theatre but it's in the Corinthia hotel so is a bit £££

Yes that's a good call - nice but not too £££ and has lovely river views!

Thanks Sunshineandpinkclouds! I'm no expert on London these days, but it was where we went before we went to see Cabaret! Hope you enjoy the show, OP.

We'll either get the train to Marylebone, or drive to somewhere on the Met line and tube in.

I've been to the Daisy Greens in Marylebone and loved it - something like that is exactly what we're after. More 'nice cafe' than restaurant.
