Anyone's husband / bf retiring from the military?

My husband is leaving after the full 22 years. He isn't retiring fully as he needs a job.

We haven't lived properly together apart from some weekends abs when he has leave at Christmas and Easter.

He's been doing courses from home for 3-4 weeks and then gets about 6 weeks home in the summer but this is forever 😬😬😬

The Forces Sweethearts threads hardly ever get replied too so I figured more people might see them if I post in chat.

Yep, after 25yrs but he's basically been at home for the last 10 as he's been an instructor with only one deployment in between.

He's got a job secured with the RFA, basically the same as he does now in the RN but with fewer weapons and his own cabin, so he's made up!

Has yours got a job plan? Have you seen his RSS yet with the pension options? Highly recommend he joins the Forces Pension Society for some advice on that front.

Hi. I've no idea what he will do. He's currently taking a few courses.

What does he do now? Does it transfer into any civvy roles or is it all about the transferable skills?

DH is trying to do his HGV tickets, but got stuffed by the DVLA over his medical which took six months for them to clear him for a provisional because they couldn't understand the difference between an infarction and a heart infection.... So he can't do the training before he leaves which is a bit of a mare.

He's outside in November, but finishes in August with A/L, terminal leave and so on.
