DH sustained a nasty head injury while out last night, we had just had dinner out with friends and he fainted, he wasn’t drunk, he hit the deck and was unconscious. It was distressing but I was just as scared of the horror stories of waiting for an ambulance, it turned up in 15 minutes, we were in a village about 5 miles from a small city. They kept him in overnight did a CT scan, bloods and an X-ray as he had injured the side of his chest. He was released midday today.

Everyone was so lovely, paramedics, hospital staff and bar staff and customers at the tiny village pub we were in.

I am just writing this down to get it out as I was doing fine till recently but feel a bit weepy this afternoon.

How scary. I'm glad he's okay and that the ambulance came quickly! Do you have any idea why he fainted?

He had a rush of blood to the stomach because he ate quite a lot, not excessive amounts but a lot for him. He has always been a bit sleepy after eating a lot even when young. As we age our bodies cope less with stuff so I suppose it’s that, It’s called post prandial hypotension. Never heard of it before. He has an awful black eye and swollen face and bruising on his ribs, shoulder and arm.

Thanks for your msg
