Just found out I have an odd amount of teeth!

I went for an Invisalign consultation and had a smile plan made where I can see a model of my teeth now and how the movement will change with each Invisalign retainer.

As a result I can see that:

-I don’t have any 3rd molars on upper arch

-on my lower arch, I no 3rd molars. I have a partial 2nd molar on left, and no 2nd molar on right side

I know it’s normal to not have 3rd molars/wisdom teeth but is it odd to not have the 2nd molars too?

I grind my teeth and am thinking no wonder if I have imbalanced teeth!

Not unusual to have missing teeth, as in they never formed.

I have missing teeth, as does my niece. Family trait, apparently.

I have only one wisdom tooth that's come up. But I'm also missing one of my other top molars - the roots of it are wrapped and twisted around the wisdom tooth on that side so neither ever came down.

My dad, aunt, daughter, cousin and I all have missing teeth.

I only have one upper fang. I'd be a crap vampire.

It came as a shock for me because I regularly see my dentist (and dental hospital due to teeth grinding) yet never have I been informed that I have 26.5 teeth!

Is the standard of NHS dentistry that low, that they won’t point something like this out? I was just told that surgery for teeth grinding is not suitable for me and to get Botox.
