Sunday AM activity just for me?? Suggestions needed please

what can I do on a Sunday roughly 7-10am that is just for me?

backstory: we have 3yo and 5mo, I’m on mat leave and I feel stressed and pressured like I need a break. Nothing major just a recharge of my own batteries.
my husbands started running which I really want to support - it is three mornings a week including Saturday. I don’t want to run but feel like that’s the ideal time to have a bit of time.

I feel like I’ve lost the ability to know what to do with myself other than provide, entertain, look after. Like my first ‘Sunday activity’ thought was ‘ooh I could walk the dog and get that out of the way!! The other best time at the moment is mornings like 7-9 as I tutor several evenings a week.

ideally it’d be out of the house so the 3yo can’t find me…. 😂

A gym class and a coffee afterwards

A walk (possibly with the dog?!) to a local cafe for a nice breakfast

Swimming at your local leisure centre

A bike ride

Go for a walk/run/swim.
Go to a cafe with a book
Go to church
Meet up with a friend in the same situation

Sundays are more difficult as there are fewer places open in the morning to go, especially in the winter when it is dark in the morning.

My own preferred options would be to go for a swim - if there was a pool open at that time - or to go somewhere for a coffee and to sit and read. Options for that, where I live, are a hotel or McDonalds.

However if you believe, or even if you dont, going to church is an opportunity to recharge your spiritual batteries.

Another vote for bike ride. The roads should be quiet, the birds singing and maybe some lovely misty hollows. Magical!

Gym, then sauna.

Unicornleapfrog · 18/05/2024 18:06

Car boot sale?

frozendaisy · 18/05/2024 18:07

Swim and sauna

7am on a Sunday morning? I would choose to sleep! Presumably you don't ever get a lie in. Is this 3-hour time slot the only time you have to yourself all week?

Alwaysoneoddsock · 18/05/2024 18:13

Do you live near the sea? Some welcoming sea swim groups have started near me. Dip in sea then coffee together.

ilovebagpuss · 18/05/2024 18:17

I go for a wild swim at 6.30 on a Sunday with a neighbour. My DD's are teens now but I still find it nice to have a couple of hours to myself.
I would go for a walk and coffee somewhere or a swim. Take the dog.

snowlady4 · 18/05/2024 18:30

Any interest in church? Some are very sociable and offer lots to do!
Other than that, headphones on, long walk and a nice coffee, bring your book and turn your phone off!

WeDreamInPhosphoresence · 18/05/2024 18:32

Get a half decent camera and take yourself off shooting at various local places. Get a coffee, headphones on, camera in hand, it's glorious.

Beachy10 · 18/05/2024 18:36

I've started going swimming on a Saturday or Sunday morning for the same reason. I only do 10-20 lengths and then sit in the sauna for the rest of the time. Also gives me a chance to wash my hair 🤣. I feel sooooo much better once I get home

TokyoSushi · 18/05/2024 18:38

Yoga or a n early swim is lovely at that time.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 18/05/2024 18:38

I do a deep aqua class on a Sunday morning, I love it and sometimes avail myself of the sauna/steam room after. I feel great by the time I get home

PanicAttax · 18/05/2024 18:43

You wouldn't catch me in the e-coli filled sea or rivers!

I'd do the dog walk and listen to an audio book, you'd be amazed how many you can get through in a month of daily regular walking. That way you get culture, exercise, time in nature and bonding time with the dog.

I missed the bit about the camera and thought how marvellous it would be to go around shooting! 😩😂

Not at living things, obviously!
