Hello

I have a very small pinky shiny lump which has sprung up next to my nose which I suspect might be a BCC from my googling.

Sorry for the moronic question but should I make a GP appt or should I pay to see a dermatologist?

Thanks

GP will refer you to dermatology.

See your GP, if they suspect cancer they would get you seen quickly by a dermatologist.

MakI a GP appointment and then they will refer you. Don't panic; a lot of these can be treated with special creams nowadays I believe

See your GP. BCC is very curable if that’s what it is.

Don’t trust google, see your GP who is qualified and will refer you.

Thanks. I almost feel foolish as it's so very tiny and I'm conscious of the state of the NHS. It might be a tiny wart I suppose.

But yes, thanks, I'm not worried, BCC is nothing like melanoma, says Dr Google.

If conscious about the NHS then it is best to get seen early as it would be easier to treat, thus cheaper.

the gp first, then you can always go to a private dermatologist afterwards if you’re not happy, which is what I ended up doing, as I wasn’t referred and it was misdiagnosed but go to the gp first.
