Do you do anything to help boost yourself during or after illness?

When going through a virus or heavy cold, anything like that, do you do anything in particular to help boost yourself? Is rest really the secret? Does the old fashioned Lucozade help?!

Rest, plenty of fluids and try to up my vitamin C (usually in the form of orange juice, which is easy to drink even when I don't feel like eating much).

Fresh ginger boiled in a saucepan then strained, add honey and fresh lemon. Drink throughout the day.

Years ago Lucozade was a great tonic but the formula has changed now, possibly to do with sugar tax, and it is not the same! I sometimes take an over the counter tonic, Metatone, for a few days post illness - but I am old enough to remember the GP always prescribing a tonic when I was a child….
