Bird feeders?

We have a couple of bird feeders, just ones from home bargains and the like that you fill with nuts. The crows/blackbirds get to it though and they’ve worked out how to swing the feeder off the hook so it hits the ground and they can get the nuts out.

We can obviously use another hook and make something to stop this but I wonder if anyone has got a good bird feeder that they can recommend. I’d like to deter the bigger birds completely, if possible.

I’ve asked HQ to move my post. Wrong place.

I give the larger birds a bowl of food on the ground to keep them happy and they leave the small feeders alone. I'm currently trying to keep magpies, jackdaws, pigeons and starlings happy. The fledgies will arrive soon.

Thanks. The magpies are happy on my pergola roof picking the moss. It’s saving me a job!

I have pretty good squirrel-proof bird feeders that are absolutely squirrel proof and the bigger birds don’t seem to bother with them much. They are also quite heavy so doesn’t come off the hook. https://amzn.eu/d/5zNHtyu

They are expensive (I got a pack of 3 - seeds, nuts and fat balls) but I’ve had them four years now and they are still going strong.

We have gutter-cleaning crows here. All I have to do is sweep up the mess!
