A friend' relative died a week ago today. The first available crematorium slot is 4 June!! Is that a normal wait?

Yes. Although they might find weekends are less booked up for some reason - we got a Saturday slot for Mum a good fortnight before a weekday slot and it was far more convenient for everyone

Unfortunately yes.....took nearly a month before my mum's funeral. She died on the 19th November and the funeral was on the 18th December. Sending hugs x

I’m not sure, I think it may depend on where you live? DM lived in London, we had to wait 4 weeks.

Completely normal. Three weeks is a pretty good timeframe from death to funeral date, it’s often longer if they take forever doing a postmortem.

Yes. A crematorium covers a wide locality so 3-4 weeks is pretty standard.

Was a 6 week wait for a Uncle but that was just as we were released from Covid testructions and everything was messed up

My dad died on 17th March and the funeral was 24th April. I was shocked, not so long ago there used to be a week between death and funeral. It was such a long wait and felt like we were in limbo.

We lost my dad on 1st August, the first date available for the cremation was 31st August.

Hi. Has anyone had to deal with the disappointment of a poor attendance at a funeral ? My FIL s funeral is up and coming in about 10 days time ,and although there wasn't a huge turnout ,the numbers have gone from 25 to 14. My wife is quite upset to say the least.
