Is this a thing? Joint nightmares

I have noticed a pattern between my 3 year old and I.

When I have a nightmare, I am pulled from it because she has also had a nightmare and has started screaming and woken me up.

I have also been woken up by her having a nightmare with my heart racing wildly, and feeling like I am in flight or fight mode. She is a frequent waker - other times I wake up fine but specifically nightmares seem to have the same effect on me.

Are joint nightmares a thing? It sounds silly to type it!

Despite dreams/nightmares seemingly lasting hours/all night, they can actually really fleeting. It’s likely you first hear her scream, which triggers a nightmare for you and then you quickly wake up, but it seems like you’ve been dreaming hours.
