Odd School trips

Next week, DDs class (yr6) will be going to a local tourist attraction for the morning. Primarily as the tourist attraction needs children so they can practice their emergency evacuation procedures, although the children will then enjoy the attraction afterwards for free.

They are often guinea pigs fir the tourist attraction, but its usually them trialling new workshop ideas. The school allows it as they get them all for free. Its walking distance so no transport costs

But it got me wondering... any other wierd and wacky school trips?

I live in SE England. The kids school decided one year to bus half year 10 all the way to York to look at Roman settlements, because of course there are famously no Roman ruins south of Birmingham. They chose a Friday, because of course there's no traffic on the M25 on a Friday. And they let the kids loose at lunchtime to buy their own lunch in the town centre, then there was an incident with a sex shop and the next week the school was festooned with shoplifted dildos. Oh, and they did it all again the week later for the other half of the year but they were told to bring a pack lunch to eat in a park somewhere nowhere near any dildos instead.
