Girls with inattentive ADHD

My DD is only 6 so it's too early to get a diagnosis but is suspected of inattentive ADHD.

Basically she day dreams a lot and is performing below her ability at school. Very good with maths, 2 years ahead, but shockingly was kept in the lowest ability group because she rarely finishes her work. She was upset about that as she was so bored, but after speaking to the school and showing them her work at home, she's been put in a higher ability group for now.

Her confidence has been going down during the last few months as she realises she's not quite performing but she doesn't understand why as she knows everything and in some areas is far ahead.

We tried to put her on a waiting list for diagnosis but both NHS and private don't think she meets the criteria yet, she's not struggling as such and is learning.

My question is, if you had a DD with suspected ADHD what support did you or school give her prior to getting a diagnosis?
