How to be more productive in the mornings.

I go to bed early, set my alarm early, make my cup of tea then I end up sitting in bed drinking my tea and being on my phone for 45 minutes! When the plan is obviously to get up early, and be productive! I could get laundry on, straighten the house and exercise in that time but I end up just sitting on my bloody phone! Help! Any advice? Thank you!

Put your phone downstairs.

Or enjoy the cup of tea as you are doing but listen to the radio or read your book or do a meditation instead of doom scrolling.

I'm guessing you're not a parent of young children...as a parent of young children I would actually say just continue enjoying the downtime and your cup of tea but just get rid of the phone!

Easy answer is don't sit on your phone and don't go back to bed. However I take forever to get going in the morning so that's exactly what I do.
On days I have to be productive though I get up as soon as my alarm goes off get the jobs done or at least some of them and only once things are done do I make a coffee/sit down,

Could you take a load of washing down with you when you make your cup of tea? That way at least it’s on while your in bed drinking/on your phone

I would like to know the answer to this too. I'm retired and sit scrolling and drinking endless coffees when I should be exercising or a million other things!

Accept your fate, some people jump out of bed elated to begin another day and some people including me need time to come to terms with it being morning again.

I normally use the snooze function on my alarm at least twice. I hate that groggy feeling first thing in the morning and take some time to come round properly. So unless you're actually missing important things like work or appointments I'd just continue as you are and be productive later!

Can you delay going on your phone?
Shuffling around with your cup of tea in the morning, you'd be surprised how much you get done.
Mornings signify more endless jobs, chores and sorting out little people. I'll be so glad when they can get their own breakfasts

I used to hate mornings but now I’m up
at 5am bright eyed and bushy tailed. I set aside the first 30 minutes to drink my coffee and meditate/read and get in the right mindset for the day.

I find putting a wash on overnight to finish at 5am means I can get it out on the airer first thing in the morning or if there is no washing I do the online food shop, banking or life admin I then prep breakfast and lunches, do a workout and ensure I’m showered and ready before my daughter is up. I can then focus on getting everyone out of the door on time.

Would love to be a morning person. I have so many fine intentions but they get lost in a sea of snooze buttons.
