Pre theatre dinner recommendations London?

Going to see a show at the Apollo theatre with DP soon. Could anyone please recommend where to eat beforehand?

We're not fussy & open to all cuisines! Budget probably around £100pp but again open to all suggestions!

It's an occasion so would like something special, I like the idea of somewhere with a nice interior/view. We're not huge foodies so doesn't need to be fine dining.

Any suggestions would be so welcome.

TIA

I really enjoyed Brasserie Zedel when I went to Moulin Rouge. Comes in well under your budget, but has nice decor & good for people watching.

Bocca di Lupo, Archer Street.

Modern Italian, excellent food, buzzy, good service, excellent gelateria across the street, and very close by.

Just checked and there's availability for both of these! I've heard lots about Zedel.

I'll take a look into both. Thank you !

Restaurants near theatres can get busy, so be we tend to get to the restaurant by 5.30pm at the latest so we’re not rushing. If we finish earlier, we just gave a wander around.

That's great advice @Riverlee thank you. I hate rushing so will take this onboard

Balthazar in Covent Garden.

Babymamamama · 14/05/2024 21:47

Barrafina, Hawksmoor, The Ivy...

We love Le Garrick in Garrick Street. 10
minutes walk to The Apollo. It's like being in Paris!

I like Joe Allen. Just on a Friday or Saturday. Has a unique atmosphere

AyrshireTryer · 14/05/2024 21:57

The Wolseley on Piccadilly is lovely.
Same 'chain' at Brasserie Zedel.

Houseplantmad · 14/05/2024 21:58

Maison Francois - classy and delicious food.

Delaunay also very nice.

Zedel; amazing amazing room. Food good. Bar Americain very atmospheric, it’s an absolutely beautiful, unique venue. However we’ve had a few issues with slow service…..

anotherusernameforthis · 14/05/2024 22:02

totally agree with @Riverlee - get an earlier sitting than you need and then have a wander.
Hefaure on Shaftesbury Avenue does lovely Japanese wobbly pancakes so if you’ve lots of time you can always go for a street pudding!

sellingpetrol · 14/05/2024 22:04

Agree with Zedel or Bocca di Lupo (although I prefer not hurrying at Bocca while Zedel is a brasserie and perfect for this sort of thing).
also Bob Bob Ricard.

Barrafina is always a good shout - great atmosphere, the simplest dishes blow you away. I also love Nessa in Soho, it's a beautiful space with a gorgeous bar for cocktails before/after dinner too. The desserts are really special here.
