Cannot cough without weeing - help

6 years ago I was pregnant with twins. 4-5 months in I had the most awful cough and I lost most bladder control. It was absolutely awful, the absolute worst bit of being pregnant.

All these years on, I’ve now had this horrific cough that everyone has had, I’ve had one set of antibiotics and am due to call the GP tomorrow as I’m almost back to how I was (finished the antibiotics on Saturday)

but the incontinence is back 😖 even the slightest cough and a bit of wee leaks out. I’m having to resort to tena ladies as I was changing my clothes 2-3 times per day.

please tell me that this can get better? Any tips or suggestions? I do my exercises, things have improved since I had my twins but it’s never been the same as it was pre kids

it’s absolutely miserable 😞

I have a cough and am struggling very hard not to wet myself with it. I have to stop dead still and sort of clench when I cough, it's horrible. I'm hoping when the cough goes I just go back to normal and hopefully you will too.

Ask your GP for a referral to a women’s health physio. She will examine you, go through some details such as exactly when you feel you leak, medical details etc and give you some exercises to do and then a follow up appointment. Also buy the NHS Squeezy app.

Try and get referred to a physio specialising in pelvic floor issues.
