I'm finally seeing my surgeon to discuss the repair of my prolapse tomorrow after two and a half years of waiting.
He is a very respected surgeon who specialises in bowel cancer so a good one to have.
The downside is that I will only get a cancellation for my surgery, as obviously cancer patients come first.
There are a couple of slightly awkward bits:
I can't keep waiting for ages as the prolapse dominates my life (toileting issues).
I'm a teacher so giving little notice for a six week absence will go down like a lead balloon - I'm trying to avoid that so will ask for some idea of how long it is likely to take. (I'd obviously like to be able to make plans for the holiday too - my mum died last year and the estate still isn't distributed as her bungalow is only finalising sale at the end of the month - it's been a long trek and I need a break).
If you can spare a thought late morning tomorrow, I'd really appreciate it.
