I viewed a house today. It is on the market for 240k. This is top end of the budget. Looks lovely on the listing but On viewing the house was disgusting. Filthy, holes in doors, laminate peeling, smelt like feet and fanny my dh said, it was absolutely minging.
I love the area and the house itself is a lovely layout and use of space, much better than my house I am in now.
It is top ceiling price of the estate so I offered 230 and it was rejected. I am reluctant to offer full asking price as at the very minimum it needs fumigating and that's before any decorating etc.
I am prepared to offer an extra 5k but cannot go 10k up as there will be nothing left.
Any tips on how to do this? I think if I offer any more they will say no and expect me to go higher, all the way to asking price.
I don't want to lose the house but I could do with holding a few quid back.
I think we're attractive buyers with 75% deposit and AIP. We're not lucky at all as it is through inheritance and would rather have that person in our lives .
Thanks
