If you could take a career break?

I daydream about walking the Camino De Santiago, and interrailing throughout Europe. Writing retreats in Rural Devon. Yoga retreats in Italy and Croatia. Endless countryside walks with my dog. Painting, pottery, metal detecting! Just slowing down and getting back nature.

Having just watched all 4 series of Race Across The World, I'd like to do that but without the very restricted budget, defo no air travel though.
As I'm off work atm long term, I already do the endless countryside walks with the dog and have recently added an elec bike and trailer to do the same but longer distance. I do drive but want to cut down using a car where possible.
Unfortunately I'm dyspraxic so have little sense of direction and am always getting lost!

I have no sense of direction either! Yes to reducing car usage. I’d love to just get on a train one day and see where it takes me; no plans, nothing booked just whatever took my fancy.

Spend a couple of months in Chile and Argentina

I dream of a career break almost daily... I'm probably old enough that it could be called semi retirement if I did it. I can't really do it - I need the earnings; I'm in a job I can't "sabbatical" from; etc etc

But, I would

• declutter and sort out the house
• play and perform music - ie do more of a current hobby, more seriously
• lose weight
