Do you play a lottery?

Which one? I read the BBC article about a man winning £500k on the Thunderball. I always hear of people playing Euromillions or the National but I never hear of much else now I think about it

I do pay twice per week and sometimes other draws if there is a rollover. I know a lottery winner, so unsure of the probability of someone who is their acquaintance also becoming a winner!

Was looking at the People's Postcode Lottery, so if anyone subscribes, please let me know if it's "worth it".

We win £10 quite regularly on postcode lottery.

I do lottery, won 110 on a rollover, free tickets quite often.

With leftover winnings on the app i do one of those instant win games and won 40 quid or my money back.

Goingasteady30 · 12/05/2024 17:32

Every now and then when I hear there is a super big jackpot. Got to be in it to win it, someone has to win it, and all that etc. However since they reduced the odds further with more balls and charging double for it I have stopped playing regularly as I used to.

BakedTattie · 12/05/2024 17:33

i know someone who won the euro millions so I reckon my chances of winning are reduced now 😂

i play when it’s a big jackpot

AceofPentacles · 12/05/2024 17:44

Work syndicate on big jackpot days

I also have an Omaze subscription £10 a month to try and win a massive house

MN has prompted to reply to the replies. Which has in turn reminded me to get a ticket tomorrow! I've a job interview tomorrow so if either the lottery or job would come good that'd be great 😛

I play set for life every week.

It's a perfect amount to live a lovely life for me

Isn't the postcode lottery £10 a month to play?
So you're just getting your money back so not actually 'winning' it?

OneFrenchEgg · 13/05/2024 20:37

Postcode lottery was useful for me, won a tenner and an m and s voucher.
Used to do a charity lottery and stopped that.
I am slightly addicted to the lottery and really have to stop myself buying online tickets and games.

typicaltuesdaynight · 13/05/2024 20:38

I've just started playing set for life as yet not won 😂 it would be a dream to win that though

Think its 12? On a DD so losing money 😂 but sssh im waiting for my doorbell to go for the 100000.

CoffeeAndPeanuts · 14/05/2024 01:11

I do. I play several a week. I put in £30 a month then choose which I fancy each week. Yes I could save it instead but 'you have to be in it to win!' I don't eat out really (for health reasons I have a very limited diet & for various other reasons, don't go to concerts etc) so I don't think it's terrible to spend £30 a month (I can afford & still eat 😜😜) for a bit of daydreaming & fun.

i don't play any of the instant games, The one that excites me the most is 'Set for life'. I think it's because there's no huge decisions to make and a reliable £10k a month.

But if I win the lottery/euro I'll manage I'm sure 🤣

We don't subscribe to the Postcode Lottery ourselves, but a friend of ours who does won a grand a little while ago.

He said they actually sent him one of the comically oversized cheques like you see on the TV adverts (maybe A4-ish sized, not talking needs-three-people-to-hold-it size), but it was just brought by the postman; not Jason Donovan!

Maybe I'm missing something, but I never understand that mindset.

Everybody clamours to enter when it's £100m after multiple rollovers, but when it's 'only' a standard £4m or whatever, that's just far too pathetic an amount to even be worth bothering for?!

Useless! Not useful. Cancelled it after about a year.

Eeek that's a lot of money a month for something so small of winning !

Tzimi · 03/08/2024 07:57

I play Thunderball four times a week. I reckon it's the easiest game to win. If you buy 7 lines, you have a better than 1 in 2 chance of winning £3 by getting the Thunderball, if you pick the most likely numbers to win according to the frequency chart (below). Then if you get a number as well you get £5, and with 2 it's £10. Top prize (all numbers plus Thunderball) is £500,000.

I do the People's Postcode Lottery because I'd kick myself if my postcode won! Also, I like the charity work they fund.

Singleandproud · 03/08/2024 08:06

I do Post Code lottery and see it as my chastity donation for the month, it's a bonus if I win. It only works out as £3 a week but there are daily draws.

Lol, damn that auto word prediction!! 😂

Tzimi · 08/09/2024 13:42

Further to my last post about playing Thunderball, recently I've had a run of luck, winning 7 times in a row! In the last 10 days, I've won £10 twice, £5 3 times, & £3 twice, totalling £41! I wonder if this means I'm going through a lucky phase at the moment?

Actually, with Euromillions, the best time to win the Millionaire Maker is when there's a low jackpot, as there will be less other people playing- so a greater chance your code will be chosen! Tuesdays also usually have less players than Fridays.
