I ordered from uber eats asda ... I ordered icecreams /lollys and cat food. Came to 22.00 on all .

It turns out ice cream etc not available. But I had no opinion to stop the order and its cost me over 11.00 for a box of dry cat food. The actual catfood was 3.75 the rest are fees . Wtf I'm deleting the app done with it

I’m never using Uber eats again after they refused to refund me properly for items not received in a McDonald’s order

FuckTheClubUp · 12/05/2024 17:08

Whatttt that’s ridiculous! Did you say that you had an issue with the order and explained the situation so the order could be reviewed? I find the team quite helpful once you speak to a real person

PineappleTime · 12/05/2024 17:11

Obviously that's shit but do you not have a local supermarket or even a corner shop near you? I really don't get why people order groceries on Uber eats. (Caveat for people with mobility problems etc)

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/05/2024 17:13

I wish they had the option to "cancel order if unavailable" like Deliveroo. I've ordered stuff previously and the main thing I wanted has been unavailable so I've just been left with the stuff I used to make up the fee.

You shouldn't be charged a small order fee or anything like that, I'd query if you have been.

I do but its co op which is expensive anyway. Its cheaper normally to do asda on uber eats. Also it's an option if I don't want to drag the kids out . Or simply can't be arsed .

I find UE to be the worst of all the delivery services and the least liked by merchants.

They are shocking with McDonald's, no refund for stone cold food, missing items, they just follow a script and refuse

DrJonesIpresume · 12/05/2024 17:28

How can a branch of Asda not have any ice cream?

WhamBamThankU · 12/05/2024 17:31

I refuse to use the app since they said I was complaining items were missing from kids McDonald's meals I'd ordered too often!! Just put the bloody stuff in the bag and I won't request a refund on those items 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don't understand how they get away with it. Its like a form of stealing.

I've never used it (we don't have it here) but DS has been messed around by them and McDs big time and neither of us is ever likely to use it now.

Hmmm, maybe because it's been nice weather this weekend so they've sold out. Just call me Sherlock.

willowtolive · 12/05/2024 18:16

I found they're pretty good for refunding if you complain. I was missing 4 mini fillets from a kfc the other week they refunded £8.50 bargain I thought lol

The world and its wife would have been in today buying ice cream. I'm not at all surprised.

On warm days my local (large) Sainsburys is often totally stripped bare.

Uber eats is beyond infuriating. But it's not always Uber eats themselves but restaurants themselves.

Ordered lunch from greggs when decorating, ordered a chicken pasta but was delivered another pasta instead. Apparently the pasta I ordered was not in stock so they just threw any random meal in instead. Like they have my details, why is beyond them to maybe call me and ask what I would like instead. Thankfully managed to get a refund on that.

But we always get wrong things delivered, missing items. It's so annoying!! And never happens when we actually go in and order directly!

FragileWookiee · 12/05/2024 18:28

Uber eats is awful. I ordered a McDonald's delivery once and it didn't arrive. I rang the restaurant, and they said that they have trouble with delivery drivers just eating the food, so I'd have to get in touch with Uber for a refund 😲have never ordered from either again.

The thing is if you ask (rightly) for a refund too often they threaten to close your account! Even though I've only ever legitimately asked for refunds. After the fourth time I deleted the app.

If its a regular user then there's going to be more issues, than say someone who only orders once in a blue moon. So I don't get how they decide how often is to often when asking for a refund. Alot of people would be happy for a replacement to be sent out.

Yea!! I've had that too!! I don't care that you know it was collected, I didn't bloody get it!!
Deliveroo are better

When I've had McDonalds it's been via the McDonalds app but Uber is their partner but means you can't complain on the Uber app, can't complain on the McDonalds app, you hunt for a phone number for the call centre in India to just tell you to sod off

Ditto. And another time the delivery driver dropped the milkshake all over the front doorstep and just shrugged. Serves me right for being so lazy.

@Sundaysun12

Good idea. I've actually started breaking it up into two smaller shops a week so things don't go off!
