Does anyone know anyone one IRL who classes themselves as an influencer on TikTok?
I know one, and the image she presents

Sorry posted too soon.
The image she presents on TilTok is absolutely not a representation of her real life although she claims to her followers it is.
This woman has hundreds of thousands of followers but the lies she tells them are awful.
She is really disliked where she comes from, and there are a few accounts calling her out but she continues with the lies. Actual lies that are easily proven.
I like TikTok for the travel vlogs and wouldn't be influenced to buy things just because a TikTok creater claims it is the best thing in the world but by looking at it thousands to believe her.

Like what?

SM influencer sells an inaccurate version of themselves is hardly a shocker is it? Next you'll be telling us Hollywood is awash with fillers.

I don’t but I take all such accounts with a major pinch of salt. Whether it’s TikTok or Instagram or YouTube. There was a midwife who had an account, more focused in her personal life, I think on Instagram and I seem to remember that unravelling. She got caught up with some sort of sock puppet account being nasty to people and I think got referred to the nmc. It’s all very fake, thankfully I don’t get many influencer types coming up on TikTok fyp.

I'm not saying it's shocked, more asking if anyone else knows anyone personally who classes their job as a social media influencer but the image they portray is not the real them

Yes, she’s secretly been left by her DH as he was sick of it, but you’d never know from her page.

She’s alone and friendless, contrary to how she presents.

She’s filmed other people’s children in the past too, so her children are also lonely and friendless now.

It’s a form of mental illness, IMO

I know someone who runs a dog account that has over 300k followers on Instagram. Lots of cutesy content, the dog dressing up, doing tricks, sometimes doing dopey things.

In real life she doesn't even have a dog. Instead she makes her husband dress up in an incredibly life like dog costume she had made in Japan and makes him act out each video which she carefully plans and choreographs. Obviously I can't say who this is but if you look closely at the videos you can tell.

I read this and laughed.

And then I read it again and thought this could actually be true because the internet is absolutely bonkers 🤣

CandiedPrincess · 12/05/2024 10:57

Not on TikTok but I know two Instagram influencers in real life. They portray a very different image to the reality.

Oh god, please share the account!

I have a lot of followers of Instagram for a hobby blog. I have never even had an offer of anything to promote or pay let alone calling myself an influencer (it's probably a micro influencer?) 😂 apart from some dog dress up - would go well with the the above poster 😂 and some weird headphones...

It happened during lockdown- literally posting (I don't do reels) everyday and went and continues to be a bit busy. It's like a second full time job just answering people's comments and being polite.

I have no idea how these people even monetise their stuff.

I do get a lot of offers to be wined and dined by American surgeons and military though so not all bad 😉

Yeah, you can't give half the story

Itsonlymashadow · 12/05/2024 11:04

I know a few.

I think anyone thinking an influencer is the same on SM as in RL need to have a word with themselves.

Their whole job is sales and marketing

OneFrenchEgg · 12/05/2024 12:38

is ir mensweardog? That's really weird

Im not asking if you believe social media influencers, my point was does anyone know any irl who have created a false lifestyle

I know two in real life who are both fake as fuck.

I'm interested to know who you are referring to. Does her name begin with E?

WeAreAllMadeOfStarz · 12/05/2024 12:51

What's with all the mystery? These accounts are all very public, just name names 😁

Most of them.

Because it could be outing for the poster, not the influencer.

I started a tiktok profile to blog my weight loss journey, 2 years ago and it just took off from there. I've met a lot of influncers and a handful are intolerable and give fake reviews to earn commission, and are out for what they can get for free. On the other hand, most smaller tiktokers are genuine.

I personally show myself as I am IRL. Although, with less swearing 😂😂. I very rarely show my family and days out spent with them. It's more about me and my up and down weight loss journey.

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 27/12/2024 14:26

Why do I get the feeling you want someone to call her out. Anyone who believes these are their true lives and persona should be more concerned about getting a hobby instead of tt
