I really enjoy zero percent beers. Erdinger 0% and Guinness 0% are my favourites, but there are lots of others.

For drinks with mood enhancement properties - Impossibrew Pale Ale, or Sentia which is lovely with tonic or as a mocktail base. Not sure the wines are quite there- but some Rose 0%'s are nice on a warm day.

Solidlump · 12/05/2024 08:33

I really like Beck's Blue alcohol free. Really refreshing ice cold from the fridge and actually tastes like real beer.
My son is a fan of Erdinger.
I've never tried non alcoholic wine though. I've just never really fancied trying it.

All NA wine tastes like Shloer to me. But I really like the Corona Cero beer.

We literally bought a bottle of every non-alcohol beer we could get our hands on and sampled them all. First choice for us is Peroni, second for me is Becks Blue, Dh likes Guiness.

I have yet to find a wine, if anyone can recommend a white or rose I would be very happy to start sampling again. They all taste like they are watered down sadly, no depth of flavour.

PosiePerkinPootleFlump · 12/05/2024 09:01

Some great beers… especially IPA types:

Van de Streek New England IPA
Beaverton’s Lazer Crush
Citra IPA

didnt try long on finding a wine - nothing worth drinking imo

Abracadabra12 · 12/05/2024 09:04

Lucky Saint is my favourite non-alcoholic beer. NA wine is much trickier.

itsturtlesallthewaydown · 12/05/2024 09:07

Any lager type alcohol free beers I find fairly unpleasant. The best for me is the Brew Dog 10 pack alcohol free selection.

Because IPA style beers have more inherent flavour, I find the AF ones are better. Obviously that does require you to like IPA style beers in the first place!

LouJ36 · 12/05/2024 09:10

Scavi & Ray Prosecco is quite nice, the best alcohol free one I've found

Peonies12 · 12/05/2024 09:12

the fizzy AF wines can be ok, the Freixnet 0% is pretty good! None of the still AF wines are any good.

Hotcuppatea · 12/05/2024 09:13

There are many excellent non alcholic beers. I haven't found a wine I can get on with yet.

shuffleofftobuffalo · 12/05/2024 09:13

If you like a lager, the Aldi own brand 0% lager is really nice.

KnackeredBack · 12/05/2024 09:15

Second that Corona Cero is really, really good. No wines have been found yet...all pretty hideous apparently.

ImWearingPantaloons · 12/05/2024 09:16

Peroni 0% is the best lager in my opinion.

All AF wine tastes like pop to me, although I did read adding a tiny bit of cider vinegar sharpens things up a bit

Latenightreader · 12/05/2024 09:21

I had an alcohol free Asahi yesterday and it was delicious. Adnams do a 0% ghost ship which I also enjoy - the choice is really good these days.

The Eisberg alcohol free Cabernet Sauvignon was good, but was less keen on some of the others (though can’t remember what else I tried).

Smidge001 · 12/05/2024 09:23

Not wine or beer, but Lyres do some excellent non Alcoholic spirits. This one is my favourite, the Italian Spritz, it really is excellent - it's a bit like Aperol, and is great with tonic/non Alcoholic prosecco (or lemonade if you like it sweeter). I tried it first in the Ivy Brasserie, and you can buy it from ocado or amazon but I haven't seen it in other shops, but its in some bars.

Edited to add: my DH says Lyres do a non Alcoholic prosecco too, not just spirits.

I'd recommend Brulo

OldTinHat · 12/05/2024 09:23

Nosecco is lovely, as is the AF Kopperberg cider.

Becks Blue and AF Brew Dog also great.

mitogoshi · 12/05/2024 09:25

Clear head (ipa style) is sold in my local, it's passable though I can tell. There's a new citra hopped one that's better but can't remember name. Alcohol free "gin" is horrible, the tonic water tastes better without it! (Add a squeeze of lime). Never found alcohol free wine that's not sweet or tastes odd, I drink half (125ml) standard rose half water with ice if I'm driving and stick to one.

Noname99 · 12/05/2024 09:27

Wolf blass Zero Shiraz is the only low alcohol (0.5%) wine that I’ve found that’s ok. It’s still a bit thin but at least it doesn’t taste like slight odd Ribena.

rkahic · 12/05/2024 09:34

I’ve found some beers that are ok, mostly from smaller independent brewers, wine, no, but really what’s the point, if you don’t want the alcohol , drink water, juice etc

QueSyrahSyrah · 12/05/2024 09:42

Natureo Rosé and Noughty Red are the best wines I've found after extensive research.

Thatchers 0% cider is very good.

Also thumbs up to Heineken 0 and Asahi 0.

Uricon2 · 12/05/2024 09:44

Really surprised by how good Guinness 0 is (75 cals per can also a bonus)

It does seem the beers are improving at a faster rate than wines.

SongSungBlues · 12/05/2024 09:45

Another vote for Freixenet 0.0% sparkling wine. It’s got a decent mouth-feel. I don’t like Nosecco - it just tastes like Aqua Libra. Not unpleasant, but not like Prosecco.

I’ve yet to find a zero alcohol red that is palatable!

WithIcePlease · 12/05/2024 09:50

I'm also a big fan of Guiness 0%.
Also really enjoyed the Brew Dog AF selection boxes and buy those whenever I see them on offer.
I also like the Sentia AF gaba spirit

Not alcohol free, but Brancote flight tastes good and is 7%
