40th gift ideas for friend living overseas

My best friend will be 40 next month, and lives in a country where complicated postage and shipping taxes mean we don't bother sending each other parcels. I usually get her a book token or generic gift voucher or give her physical gifts when we meet up. We are not going to be meeting up face to face prior to her 40th but I want to get her something nice and special I can "send" her where she is. I guess a voucher / experience etc but specifically what?

Has anyone got any good ideas for a 40th fit this criteria?

Is she the type of person who would like a voucher for a local spa for a massage/facial? Or the type of person who would like a voucher for a sky diving experience, or to go rock climbing? Horse riding? A fancy haircut? Voucher for a home/interiors site? Local restaurant?

Any information about her except her being 40?

Getting her tickets to an event happening where she lives or a gift certificate to something locally is an amazong idea, OP, and also you won't have to worry about the delivery happening on time. If you feel like you absolutely need to mail something to her, think of local treats (snacks, sweets, something unique that your area has) or make a photo calendar with your local views (there are easy calendar creators like Photo calendar maker or Canva where you can design your own thing), and write her a letter! If you have pictures of her or both of you together, you can make a birthday video for her as well and email it to her on her birthday when she gets the present from you.
