Does reading you make you cry or feel emotional?

I have been sat sobbing at this. Yes, sobbing.

No idea what's triggered it but something in the way it's written has really got me crying!

I am not a crier.

I read it in the brochure but here it is online. Something about the June brides, sunny afternoons of hope.

I don't know. Is it just really well written? Blush I've linked it!

It's schmaltzy advertorial. If you're crying at this that's really quite concerning.

letusdine · 11/05/2024 20:21

Yes, it is all marketing related so I am not sure why it has touched me the way it has!

I thought you meant a tragic novel. Or a news story about an awful tragedy.

Not an advert for summer clothes.

I’m somewhat taken aback.

hexsnidgett · 11/05/2024 20:27

Only if I was very tired/stressed/pregnant...

KeepYourFingersOutOfMySoup · 11/05/2024 20:29

I was all prepared to say yes... but yeah, no.

I think you are have a moment op! Don't worry, random shit gets to most of us sometimes!

hexsnidgett · 11/05/2024 20:30

I am strangely baffled myself

Not sure what's come over me!

My H read it, and looked up with a Hmm

Do you work for the White Company? Is this a clever advertising thing?

Second this- there is no way I would cry at this unless pregnant.

letusdine · 11/05/2024 20:35

Think I might need more sleep Grin thanks all for confirming my reaction was indeed unhinged

I am still disturbed at night about what those characters did when they stole Noddy's car.

I can't get the image out of my head of one of them wearing Noddy's hat and laughing.

😱

fatphalange · 11/05/2024 20:51

What a load of twaddle!

blueshoes · 12/05/2024 01:22
Hmm

A bit Sistine Chapel?

SuprasternalNotch · 12/05/2024 01:31

Not at a cliché-sodden ads authored by AI, no.

That sounds like a cult leader 🧐

FeralNun · 12/05/2024 08:33

I am a massive crier. Reading that barely registered in my brain as words though, tbh.

You’ve got something going on, OP. Maybe take it as an opportunity to delve a bit deeper?

Helengreggregson · 12/05/2024 08:48

This isn’t well written. Are you ok ?

ValueAddedTaxonomy · 12/05/2024 08:50

Lolol I thought you were going to say Middlemarch or somethingGrin

I think you must just have been badly in need of a weep.

ChaosAndCrumbs · 12/05/2024 08:59

Not at advertisements, but definitely at books. When I’m tired I cry at some young children’s books though. 😂 As a writer, they’ve included lots of sensual elements, so for some people those will connect to specific memories and desires.

On a light note, perhaps you’re in dire need of a sunny holiday? 😁

letusdine · 13/05/2024 08:47
