What would you say to yourself, as a teenager, if the portal between that time and this would only allow a written message of six words maximum?

Mine would be "Go to university regardless. Forego crisps."

Boot him (dad) in the nuts.

Or:

It'll be ok, you'll be loved.

Or:

One day you'll have 6 dogs!!

(And yes, I did boot my abusive dad in the nuts and it was the last time he laid a hand on me; I met DH when we were still teenagers at school and I am so very loved; and yes, DH and I do indeed have 6 dogs. I wasn't allowed one when I was a child so we've made up for it now 🥰)
