What time does your 10 year old go to bed at the moment?

I try and turn his light off by 9:15. If I leave it much later he's ok but gets tired in the morning. He's not far off 11

My DC isn't ever have a set bedtime but we might suggest it was time or they'd take themselves off. Invariably it would be 8pm until 10 years old, 10pm from secondary age.

Dc now nearly 12 but aged 10 was
School night bed 9pm light off 9.30pm
Weekend etc was bed 10pm lights off 11pm

We have a rough aim of 8pm most nights. Sometimes it's closer to 8.30pm. He seems quite happy with this and sleeps until just before 7am so it's working fine for him.

My 6.5 year old goes to bed 8.30/9, I thought it was later than some children her age but I didn’t realise that’s a 10 year olds bedtime! I’ve tried to bring it forward but she can’t fall asleep. Although we don’t do any breakfast clubs and just a couple of hours of activity a week after school so maybe she would be more tired with a busier schedule

ISeeTheLight · 10/05/2024 21:10

Surely that depends on what time they have to get up.
Mine goes to bed quite late, I'm sure most Brits would have a fit. 9.45pm ish. She gets up at 7.50am. So gets around 10hrs of sleep.

youreonmute123 · 10/05/2024 21:10

8pm we are in bed, 830pm hopefully asleep, we get up early though, school starts at 715 so kids are up by 615 most days

amyshep · 10/05/2024 21:35

Aim for 8/8.30 but asleep by usually 9pm school nights. Up by 7.20 but usually wakes earlier
Weekends anything goes

Birmingbacon · 10/05/2024 21:36

Year 5 aged 10 lights off 8pm gets up at 6am
