Brown ring!!
I've tried bleach, a magic eraser, scrubbing with Cif but it won't budge!

It's light limestone scale. Close up the drain (blutak or a sticker will do if there's no mechanical stopper) and cover it completely in descaler. Leave it for as long as it takes.

Right, will do!!!

I find something called Viakal most effective. It does smell a bit though so do it in a well ventilated room.*

*Edited to say, that sounds like I'm suggesting you take the sink out, I'm meaning open the windows!

Washing powder maybe?

DrJonesIpresume · 10/05/2024 20:40

I used descaler on a sink like that once, and left it on for a long time. It ruined the chrome finish of the fittings.

Balloonhearts · 10/05/2024 20:40

Viakal. Spray on and leave for half hour it'll just rinse away.

gluenotsoup · 10/05/2024 20:42

barkeepers friend might work

Serencwtch · 10/05/2024 20:46

Viakal limescale remover. Use the gel one that has to be poured on & is thick gel as it works better than the spray on one.

WhereAreAllTheBendyBusses · 10/05/2024 21:06

Hg limescale remover will fizz that away. The normal bottle not the spray one. The concentrated one tesco its about 4 quid

Birdseyetrifle · 11/05/2024 06:44

Lidl’s cheap limescale remover works a treat on stuff like this.

notenoughtogoround · 11/05/2024 07:32

I had no idea Viakal came in a gel... but thanks 😃😃

BigDahliaFan · 11/05/2024 07:46

bottle of full fat cloak left to soak over night will also do it.

BlunderMifflin · 11/05/2024 08:10

Pink Stuff worked for me for this exact problem.
