Can I use a sling after a C-section?

Just that really! I am 3 weeks post c-section, a lot of the internal pain is gone but I’m sore around my wound. I know I’m not supposed to lift but is it ok to start using a carrier/sling? My baby is quite clingy and I would like to start some more walking which is easier without the pram where I live.

Also can any recommend a carrier for a small baby (around 6lb)?

Yes absolutely. I was carrying DS from day 2 after my section. A decent carrier will distribute the weight evenly so you aren’t using your abdominal muscles too much. Carrier waistbands should also but tightened right under your boobs so shouldn’t be anywhere near your scar.

A stretchy wrap is usually considered a good place to start with carrying. Make sure you are following the TICKS guidance and join the Babywearing UK Facebook group for advice and support!

It's fine I was a lone parent I had no choice but to lift things MW/HV didn't care or say anything (had older kids also) it was completely fine I'm sure you will be ok
