For some reason I'm on a chernobyl kick again. Would like some ideas for new subjects 😀

FinnJuhl · 10/05/2024 16:50

Mountaineering always does it for me.

mynameiscalypso · 10/05/2024 16:51

Espionage, organised crime and the Cold War. I'm a barrel of laughs.

Perihelion · 10/05/2024 16:53

Keeping with the nuclear theme, have you watched Into Eternity? About a Finnish nuclear waste repository. It's brilliant.

BeachHutsAndDeckchairs · 10/05/2024 16:55

Anything by Dr. Lucy Worsley
Ghosts on the London underground
Anything to do with social history

I'm glad I started this haha feel free to provide links Grin].

I also got obsessed with my 600lb life, but it's was too depressing in the end. Also how the fuck do these bedbound people have enough money to A maintain that weight and B have huge trucks and relocate on a whim Hmm

Cheers, will watch that tonight. Watched one today about the construction of the new sarcophagus, was pretty impressive.

I love watching documentaries about building things - bridges, the huge buildings in London, the London underground tube network etc. I watched a great one a year or so ago about how the building that is nicknamed 'The Cheese Grater' in London was built. Fascinating. I sometimes think I'm a frustrated civil engineer 😂

Mammyloveswine · 10/05/2024 17:51

Everest.., the holocaust.. true crime.. miraculous survival stories... also those behind the job ones like airport/the hotel/ educating Yorkshire etc!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 10/05/2024 17:54

I love a good religious cult documentary but if none available I'll settle for serial killers or mysterious crimes / disasters 😬

EnglishGirlApproximately · 10/05/2024 17:55

Also 9/11 is endlessly fascinating. I don't think there's anything I haven't seen or heard about it but I still feel compelled to watch whenever something is on.

IncognitoUsername · 10/05/2024 17:56

Murders. DH says the Sky planner looks like a guide to killing your husband and getting away with it!

Blackcats7 · 10/05/2024 17:57

Politics, miscarriages of justice, history. I like to know the facts and am not a fan of salacious schaudenfreude stuff

SlashBeef · 10/05/2024 17:59

Tornados. It's a full obsession at this point 🙈

In fact anything that Prof Alice Roberts presents I will watch.

Also love Who Do You Think You Are, DNA stories.

A House Theough Time was interesting too.

History geek here.

VenetiaHallisWellPosh · 10/05/2024 19:20

Netflix True Crime.
Social history.
Love Dr Worsley and Prof Beard but I don't have a TV licence and both are on the BBC ☹️.
